Humanity in the Economy, Effectuation, and Conditions for Regeneration
What Does "Humanity in the Economy" Actually Mean?
I see myself as an advocate for exactly that: humanity in the economy. Let me share just three reasons as some afterglow of my conversation with Garden-Generator - founded and facilitated by Othmane Wagdi. Link ⬇️
👉Reason 1
We humans are the creators of any kind of economy—whether for better or worse. It's within our power to shape the future we want for ourselves, our children, and all beloved living beings. By consciously choosing to infuse humanity into our economic decisions, we can build a future that reflects those values and aspirations. This also means that many decisions would be made differently, focusing on serving life rather than just filling bank accounts.
👉Reason 2
Showing up as much human as I can be is something very precious and daring to me. While it may seem trivial—after all, aren't we all human already?—the reality is that not everyone dares to show their full humanity in economic contexts. This means revealing our strengths and weaknesses, confidence and insecurity, knowledge and uncertainty, carelessness and empathy, beauty and flaws. Most of us are comfortable showcasing our positive traits, but few are willing to expose their imperfections.
👉Reason 3
Builds on the first one. To me it is a matter of fact that we have to evolve our economic system toward a more just one. One that prioritizes regeneration and the common good. To make meaningful progress, we must break through silos and the tunnel vision of expertise. We need to create spaces where people from diverse sectors, industries, nations, and cultures can come together to bridge the gap between technology, capital, society, and humanity. I see a new profession rising here: Social Fabric Weavers—individuals capable of initiating these spaces, gathering diverse groups, and igniting evolutionary progress.
Othmane, thank you for asking such profound questions and creating a space for deep exploration into humanity in the economy, regeneration, cooperation vs competition, capital, and much more. I cherished every minute of our extended conversation! Your curiosity and vision are both magnificent and contagious✨
With love, beauty, and joy
